When Aaron starting tracking his E46 M3, no one knew what kind of beast it would become. What started off originally with some basic suspension upgrades and brakes has morphed into this sleeper you see here.

The heart of this 2004 BMW M3 is an  RRT Racing S54 Engine. Featuring forged pistons, billet rods, Schrick camshafts with DLC followers driven by an RRT Racing upgraded exhaust hub and a Dr. Vanos rebuilt unit. The refreshed cylinder head  has new valve guide and a valve job while being decked ever so slightly. An ATI harmonic balance keep everything in check and an Epic Motorsports tune controls the powerplant. All of this power is let loose out of SuperSprint V1 stepped headers, a pair of high flow cats, a SuperSprint resonated section 3 and a Dinan Muffler. This combination creates the perfect growl with no drone. A CSF radiator keeps everything running cool in the most extreme conditions.

Suspension is handled by Ohlins Road & Track dampers with custom spring rates and Vorshlag camber plates. Body roll is negated by Ground Control sway bars. New rear trailing bushings with RRT Racing limiter shims and new front control arm bushings, providing for improved response while maintaining ride and noise quality.

That improved handling is shared to the road through two different wheel and tire setups. Bimmerworld Teal 16 wheels are wrapped in either 275/35/18 Nitto NT01’s or Hankook RS4s. They bolt on to the car utilizing Bimmerworld premium race studs. Stopping power is provided by a Performance Friction big brake kit in the front and matching pads in the rear while Castrol SRF fluid provided the hydraulic connection between the brake pedal and the calipers.

Sending the power through to those tires, the engine was mated with a JB Racing lightened flywheel, Sachs Motorsports clutch and an Auto Solutions 20% reduction shifter assembly. A Diffsonline 3.91, 3-Clutch with custom ramps and REM finished gears divides that energy to each of the rear wheels. The E46 M3 subframe has been reinforced to ensure the cracking these cars are known for never happens and new carrier bushings installed while the work was being performed.

A custom fabricated roll bar by RRT Racing, painted custom red and fabricated rear seat delete panels round out the interior and provide for an added level of chassis stiffness and safety. Mounts installed for 6 point belts were installed for when the Sparco racing seats are in the car, but the stock seats retain the ability to bolt in for street use and comfort.
