The American Endurance Racing at Watkins Glen event opened up for Friday practice with inches of snow on the ground. The cold weather and moisture reduced some of the prep time we normally would get with an event weekend, but the #72 still displayed a strong running by taking home a 2nd place trophy on Saturday and a 3rd place trophy on Sunday. Combined, RRT Racing also took home a 2nd place overall for the weekend in class 4.
Saturday’s race was a bit hectic with many full course cautions slowing the action a bit. But our BMW 325is managed consistent 2.13’s throughout the day’s green flag racing. The cold track unfortunately ended many team’s weekends but we were lucky enough to stay out of the mess and ended the day in the #2 spot.
Sunday, equipped with different tires and more favorable weather conditions and much more green flag racing, we managed a 3rd place win after Anthony Maganoli started clicking off 2.08’s for the last few laps. Even with having to do a ‘splash-and-go’ for fuel on the last lap, RRT Racing maintained position and finished strong.
Than you for our drivers: Jospeh Cudby, Anthony Maganoli, Michael Kanisczak, Wayne Moubray, Matt Deming & Patrick Harris
